The poster session is an important part of the 24th PCS International Working Conference. During a poster session, authors can receive significant feedback from participants, and often more than from an oral session.

A poster is both a concise and visual representation of a scientific study, which allows for the detailed discussions regarding the study, and its methodology and results.

You may consider having photocopies of your poster available to distribute to participants. It is up to you how many copies you bring, but we suggest at least 50.

Authors whose abstracts were chosen for presentation in the format of a poster should use the following guidelines.

Posters – Oral Presentations

Posters - Oral Session

Each poster selected by the Scientific Committee for the 24th PCS International Working Conference may be presented orally. The duration for the oral presentations is 5 minutes, and under no circumstance can the 5 minutes be exceeded.

As shown on the conference site, http://www.pcsi2008.org/en/program/, there will be three sessions for the oral presentation of posters. All the sessions will be on Thursday from 17h40m to 18h40m

Poster viewing will be on Thursday and Friday from 9am onwards. Posters should be removed by the authors on Friday between 18h30m and 19h. If not removed, the cleaning staff will throw them away.

Oral presentations should be seen as a chance to invite others to view the poster (to act as an ‘advertisement’). They should draw attention to the most interesting and innovative parts of the work.

Each presentation should have a maximum of 5 slides.

You may chose to use the follow structure for your presentation:
  • Slide 1: Title, authors, and affiliations
  • Slide 2: Rational and objectives
  • Slide 3: Methodology
  • Slide 4: Main results
  • Slide 5: Conclusions
These presentations should be made on Powerpoint.

Presenters should contact a member of the staff helping with registration and logistics to save their presentation on the computer in the conference room before the session. It will not be possible to save the presentation during the conference session.

Before and during each session, there will be someone available to help with any problems that might occur.

For each oral poster one question from the audience will be allowed.
